GET TO KNOW SAM ELLINGTON
Singing and playing professionally for almost a decade, Sam Ellington has been featured in various venues and theatres in Vancouver and throughout Western Canada. Sam is equally comfortable performing contemporary and classic pop and rock songs, as he is singing swing and blues standards from the jazz tradition. Sam is the featured male vocalist in Kelly Becker’s “Million Dollar Dreamers” Showband.
CAREER BACKGROUND
Sam’s duo provided evening entertainment on Harbour Cruises’ Sunset Dinner Cruise (Coal Harbour) from 2018 through 2022. He has been featured at Frankie’s Jazz Club, PNE Mainstage, along with various rotating slots at restaurants throughout the Lower Mainland.
As an alumni of Perry Ehrlich’s ShowStoppers Glee Group, Sam performed with Barry Manilow (Roger’s Arena), Foreigner, The Nylons and Eric Church. Additionally, he was a cast member of the show “Jump! A Celebration of Swing, Boogie and Blues” – that toured across Western Canada. Fun fact, Sam was also a principal dancer in the Royal City Music Theatre’s production of Anything Goes.

Sam is well-versed in multiple styles, including Jazz/Swing & Blues (eg. Ella Fitzgerald, Micheal Buble, Frank Sinatra, Nat King Cole,Ray Charles, Chet Baker), Motown/R&B (Stevie Wonder, Al Green, Otis Reading, Marvin Gaye, The Jacksons, Earth Wind and Fire), Classic Pop/Rock (Beatles, Elton John, James Taylor, Billy Joel, Eric Clapton, The Eagles, Sting, Carole King, Bob Seger, Van Morrison, Bee Gees,The Four Seasons), and Contemporary Pop (Bruno Mars, Jarle Bernhoft, Teddy Swims, John Mayer, John Legend, Jason Mraz, Ruel, Ed Sheeran, Amy Winehouse, Alicia Keys).
