Her original music is captivating, whimsical, and intricate, and she shines brightest when performing. ELLA’S CAREER BACKGROUND
Ella has been playing guitar since she was 12 years old, entirely self-taught. While she has written original songs her whole life, she dove deeper into her passion for music when she was 18 in university, studying pre-med and realized that she wanted to pivot career paths. Music became her escape, and she wrote over 100 songs in one year. This further ignited a flame for Ella to start seeking out performing opportunities. Initially joining open mics in Whistler, Ella absolutely fell in love with performing. After booking her first gig at Maxx Fish, Ella’s music career exploded from there. Ella has done over 80 gigs in the past year, ranging from bars, farmer's markets, upscale restaurants, weddings, art shows, Taylor Swift-themed nights, Holiday shows, and more. More recently, through her connection with an award-winning producer in Vancouver, she has been working on the exciting release of her original music. Ella has already made waves with her original song being featured in a new vertical drama and trailers nationwide.
ELLA MATHISON’S MUSIC STYLE
Ella is a versatile musician across many styles, but primarily excels in the Indie Folk genre. Crossing into Folk/Pop and Country/Pop, as well. Her favourite artists to cover are Noah Kahan, The Lumineers, Of Monsters and Men, Gracie Abrams, Taylor Swift (think folklore/evermore), and Zach Bryan.
