Bob Collins
GET TO KNOW BOB COLLINS
Bob Collins was born in St John’s, Newfoundland, and brings his full East Coast charm to every performance. Bob’s acoustic guitar stylings, easy, engaging manner, and warm voice draw in a room. Bob performs solo and with two different duos around Metro Vancouver. While he loves an interactive audience, he can lie back and make any space sound beautiful.
CAREER BACKGROUND
After 5 years touring with the Jocelyn Pettit Band, including shows & festivals all around BC, Bob branched out into a solo and duo career. Bob is based in Vancouver and has regular dates and many regular followers at a number of local venues. While not surprising that many are Irish pubs, a full and complete repertoire rounds out every venue and audience. Bob has fairly steady requests for private events and enjoys working with organizers to bring the perfect music to make every event special.
Bob has owned small recording studios, including his current one, and this brings a wonderfully balanced sense of sound delivery. He loves his small set-up but truly revels in the terrific way his Bose system delivers perfect balance. It really helps to know your sound!
BOB’S MUSIC STYLE
Bob Collins likes to bring the complete and energetic Newfoundland Kitchen Party vibe to pubs and private events. A full Scottish, Irish, and East Coast repertoire makes lively events pretty memorable. Bob plays a full and varied repertoire of classic Popular music, Country, and Blues, as well. This includes music from the 1940s to 2025; everything from Ray Charles to The Eagles to Oasis to Ed Sheeran to Sia to Noah Kahan. Bob is always ready to go where the audience wants to go and revels in the journey. And should a particular show or event reach out for ‘the quiet’, then everything from Patsy Cline to Jim Croce to Sarah McLaughlan to REM is ready to go. Bob loves a wide and eclectic range of music that mirrors musical listening tastes today.
